Experiences
KRWC offers a series of themed programs which can run as single day activities or up to twelve day expeditions. ALL of our programs are carefully programmed to enable the delivery of skills development and team effectiveness outcomes.
Also VET Rec competency days - call us to find out how the two single days work.
Transition Program
This is a carefully designed program suited to transition from junior to senior campuses, primary school to secondary or as a general activity day.
Some features :
- All activities will be challenge by choice but will benefit from skilful facilitation to retain engagement
- If you have personal development or wellbeing programs already underway at school then our program can integrate the language and framework - not too in-depth but more about some repetition of the concepts in a different setting. For example these may include Round Square Schools, Mind Matters, ROCKed, Reach Foundation, Big Picture or profiling models such as DISC, Hermann Whole Brain etc. KRWC staff are familiar with most youth development frameworks and where not - we will be.
- Lunchtimes will ALL be separate per group to facilitate bonding and reflection
- There are two streams, RESPECT UP HIGH which has significant challenge ropes elements but not exclusively and RESPECT EYE-TO-EYE which will focus on activities which highlight interpersonal interactions
- There are two additional activities which we will accept 'nominations' for at the end of each rotation which will be "peak" activities and will really be an OMG! experience for those that take up the challenge
- The program can be customised to your needs and times are indicative only - arrive at dawn leave at dusk if you like!
Amazing Mountain Race
Once again based on the popular TV series our Amazing Race program covers lots of ground and has a series of physical and mental challenges to complete. Our programming method allows for large groups to compete and focuses on rewarding attitude and performance rather than identifying losers. The program is carefully built to sequentially develop individual and teamwork skills and culminates in a celebration involving all.
Survivor
Based on the popular TV series our Survivor programs come with all the drama of fierce competition, strategy and will power with all the tension of tribal councils. Our puzzles are challenging and our physical challenges make use of
the Adventure Camps many resources, most importantly our experienced Tribal Elders (facilitators).

The Briefcase
Find the briefcase and recover its contents to have all revealed! But, what is the combination? Where can it be found? Is a key required? Is it booby trapped? Will the contents make sense to us?
The briefcase scenario requires multiple teams to complete multi-day navigations and hike, bush camp, manage resources, solve puzzles and overcome adventure challenges. But perhaps the biggest challenges are in the group communications, planning and
teamwork! Again, as with all KRWC programming, The Briefcase is carefully built to sequentially develop individual and teamwork skills and culminates in a celebration involving all.
Navigation Challenge
This program focuses on developing an appreciation and the skills for many techniques and tools of navigation. We utilize seven bush campsites within our 1500 acres to develop navigation, hiking and bushcraft skills.
The challenge runs with a number of teams competing at times and working together at times to achieve an outcome over the course of the program.
January 2012. Melbourne Vixens, our national level netball team, concluded their 2012 pre-season camp with facilitation at KRWC. 12 tough girls with 12 authentic smiles - lookout the rest of ANZ - they are switched on
With the support of the Australian Camps Association Colin French from KRWC presented at the ICC in Hong Kong in November. The focus of the presentation was the recovery journey since the Black Saturday bushfires. The aspiration was for the KRWC experience to be helpful for camps internationally that have sufferred from natural disasters, particularly with the Japan tsunami experience in mind.
